Barabba is a raven born by mistake.
I had a whole other thing in mind, I swear.
I had this frame and a plywood board of the exact size.
The two were perfect together, but the tablet was treated with a very thick layer of glue.
I painted the background red and I already had my doubts because it didn’t dry well.
When it was time to draw the raven, I realized that the color was dripping: a surface too smooth, damn!
As I usually do, I abandoned the initial subject and let this water-repellent support decide.
Result: Barabba.
